Job Summary:
The Insurance Estimator is responsible executing the timely, accurate and profitable estimation of property losses for both residential and commercial sites. The position requires a highly motivated, self-driven professional with a commitment to succeed. The estimator helps to close the sale and retain customers by promptly responding to requests and effectively communicating with adjusters and others involved in the claims process. Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with Project Managers to obtain detailed scope and understanding of property damages
- Responsible for take-offs, creating estimates and submitting to insurance adjusters
- Ensure pricing and scope is accurate and negotiates project details with adjusters
- Notify appropriate internal and external parties of estimate status making detailed notes in job management systems
- Obtain appropriate estimate approvals; communicate details to production and accounting staff
- Upload estimates and other data into systems
- Extract and create work orders and set preliminary project budget
- Maintain strong relationships with adjusters and claims managers
- Ensure all job files are complete and up to date
- Manage and input documentation to support both internal and external requirements
- Assist in other areas required to deliver a quality product on schedule and on budget
Qualifications/Experience/Skills/Education:
- 1 or more years of professional office experience
- Construction industry knowledge is preferred but not required
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience in quotes or estimate creation, a plus
- Demonstrated technical capability and proficiency with computers and systems software
- Ability to learn multiple database systems and devices simultaneously
- Exceptional attention to detail, ability to multi-task, work successfully under pressure, and effectively prioritize and manage time and workload to meet company needs
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, required
- Reliability, maturity and a desire to be a team player
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be able to pass background and drug screening
- High School Diploma or GED, required; college degree preferred
