As an ECC Dispatcher, you will play a vital role in our ability to provide clients with appropriate and timely emergency assistance via telephone and through the dispatching of emergency personnel. In this fast-paced and challenging position, you will
- Assist clients via telephone and provide information regarding eligibility for Red Cross services.
- Notify and dispatch appropriate Red Cross staff to emergencies.
- Coordinate hotel arrangements for clients who are unable to stay in their residence
- Monitor multiple sources of information while managing phone calls and simultaneously updating multiple databases
- Work in person at our NYC Chapter HQ
- Experience and a willingness to work with people of different ethnic, religious, social and economic backgrounds.
- Comfortable learning & using various phone systems, portable radios and communication scanners.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-sensory environment (able to pay attention to multiple sources of incoming information-police scanners, newsfeeds, etc.).
- Outstanding computer skills; Must have an up-to-date computer and a fast and reliable internet connection.
- Comfortable working remotely with experience in Microsoft Teams preferred
