What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recruitment Manager position at American Recruiters?
Regional Recruitment Manager — Multi-Hospital Health System (Southern California)
A growing, multi-hospital health system is building out a new regional HR structure, and we are leading the search for a Regional Recruitment Manager who will sit at the center of it. This is a newly created, highly visible role with direct executive sponsorship and a clear mandate to raise the bar on how recruitment is delivered across a multi-hospital region.
Why is this role different?
- Historically, recruitment has been handled facility-by-facility. That is changing. The system is consolidating and modernizing talent acquisition at the regional level, and this position is the engine behind that transformation.
- You will inherit a real book of business (Nurse Manager and Director-level roles), a team to build into, and the kind of C-suite visibility that accelerates careers.
- Leadership has been direct about one thing: as recruitment goes, so goes the success of the reorganization.
The scope
- Multiple acute care hospitals plus outpatient and ambulatory sites
- Approximately 8,000 employees across the region
- Roughly 500–600 open requisitions at any given time (averaging 100 per hospital, plus regional, outpatient, and IPM)
- Direct leadership of 11 professionals: seven recruiters (three nurse, four ancillary) and four sourcers
- Ownership of regional travel to all campuses, with a minimum monthly presence at each
What you'll own
- Designing and executing the regional recruitment strategy — standardizing process, sharpening KPIs, and making talent acquisition a true strategic function
- Reducing dependency on traveler labor, a top priority for senior leadership
- Personally recruiting Nurse Manager and Director-level talent
- Driving sourcing through technology, market intelligence, and creative outreach
- Community outreach and employer brand visibility across the region
- Leading, coaching, and developing the recruiter and sourcer team
- Partnering with facility HR Directors, hiring leaders, and corporate recruitment to deliver results quickly and consistently
What the right candidate brings
- Healthcare recruitment experience is required — this is non-negotiable
- A background leading recruiters and sourcers in either a multi-hospital environment or a large, high-volume acute care system
- Demonstrated success carrying a personal requisition load at the Manager and Director level while also leading a team
- California experience strongly preferred
- iCIMS experience required; Workday exposure is a plus
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of advanced, high-volume recruitment experience, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP preferred
What will make you successful here?
The hiring leader was clear on what they are looking for beyond the résumé: transparency, clear communication, and the kind of professional who does what they say they will do. This region needs someone who treats recruitment as a service discipline — to candidates, hiring managers, and facility leadership alike — and who can bring passion, enthusiasm, and a thick skin to a high-pressure, high-visibility environment. You will be the face of the organization in every interaction, so presence and polish matter.
The opportunity
- Competitive base salary with sign-on and relocation consideration for the right candidate.
- Strong benefits package.
- This role is based at the regional offices with travel to facilities across the region (no overnight).
The interview process will move quickly — this is a priority hire with executive attention behind it.
