Quality Control Inspector

American Quality Fabrication, Inc. is looking for an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team:

Responsible for performing in process inspections on products at various stages of production, to ensure that customer specifications are being met and company quality standards are followed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced
• Ensure that all of the quality check procedures put in place by the company are followed during every production phase
• Create comprehensive documentation for quality issues and note the corrective actions that were taken
• Educate production team on quality control issues, and work with group leaders to improve overall company safety and product quality
• Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments
• Read blueprints and specifications
• Monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards
• Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process
• Measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
• Accept or reject finished items
• Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products
• Notify supervisors of defects; assist in analyzing, identifying and correcting the underlying production problem
• Participate in continuous improvement (CIP) activity
• Strictly adhere to Quality standards
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, etc.

Required Experience & Education:

• 3-5 years of experience with on-the-job inspection in metal fabrication industry
• Must be able to read blueprints, and identify print with actual part
• Must possess basic math and computer skill
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong understanding of raw materials and the manufacturing industry
• Ability to work in a team environment

Please Note: Work is done in a manufacturing environment in a fabrication shop. Requirements include, but are not limited to:

• Subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
• Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
