What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller - Construction position at American Products, Inc. (API)?
American Products, Inc. (API) manufactures architectural metal products such as storefronts, doors, canopies, sunshades, ACM panel systems, brake metal, handrail, etc. from our facilities in Oldsmar, FL. Our customers include some of the largest national chains in the country such as Chipotle, Outback, PDQ, Gap, Ann Taylor, Lids, Forever 21, and many more; as well as architects, general contractors and subcontractors located nationally throughout the US.
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our small team as Assistant Controller. Construction and or manufacturing experience preferred but not required. Our Assistant Controller will be comfortable working hands-on in different areas of accounting, operations and HR such as payroll, purchasing (including obtaining price quotes, writing purchase orders, and receipt of goods properly), managing and maintaining inventory quantities by working with AP, production, shipping and receiving teams, etc. You could also assist with other areas of accounting and operations including but not limited to AP, AR, general accounting, general financial reporting, hr, etc. Very strong computer experience is absolutely required, including strong excel skills. Experience with Sage 100 and ADP a plus but not required.
Job Requirements:
• Extensive amount of professional accounting/finance experience.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to be very hands on daily in all aspects of accounting and general operations.
• Comfortable in a small team environment.
• Advanced computer skills and strong proficiency in Excel is an absolute must, as well strong overall computer skills.
• Prior experience in Manufacturing and/or Construction strongly preferred, but not required.
• Experience with general payroll / general hr a plus.
