Job Description Overview
This role develops fully custom software to automate engineering drawings and manufacturing workflows, and integrates third-party software into our in-house stack. You will work in a small team building automation tools used directly by our engineering department, automating and checking engineering drawings, and maintaining the systems that track revisions and file packages issued to engineers.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Design, build, and deploy custom automation tools and internal web applications
· Use in-house software to automate engineering tasks
· Automate the creation and checking of engineering drawings
· Parse and extract data from engineering drawings and related documents
· Integrate and extend third-party software within our custom software stack
· Help define and enforce engineering and software standards
· Maintain and improve existing automation systems
· Work directly with engineers and other departments to understand needs and translate them into tools
Required Skills and Abilities
· Practical coding experience
· Strong problem-solving and a self-directed, figure-it-out mindset
· Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings (dimensions, BOMs, revisions)
· Clear written and verbal communication
· Teamwork and willingness to collaborate across departments
Preferred / Nice to Have
· Experience with AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code)
· Web app development (e.g., Flask) and basic SQL/databases
· Version control (git)
· Familiarity with CAD software and/or ERP systems (e.g., Epicor)
· Background in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Education and Experience
· 1 year writing code in a professional or project setting, or demonstrated equivalent through a portfolio of real projects
· Degree in a technical field is a plus but not required

Full-time, 40 hours/week, on-site.
