POSITION OVERVIEW
The Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight, safety, and operational performance of managed aquatics facilities and the lifeguard personnel assigned to a specific geographic area. Serving as the primary point of contact between clients, patrons, field staff, and management, the Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring that company standards, customer service expectations, and safety protocols are consistently met. This position involves frequent fieldwork, facility inspections, and active engagement with lifeguard teams.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Facility Oversight & Compliance
- Conduct daily inspections of pools and surrounding facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company policies and risk management standards.
- Identify and report any issues related to facility conditions, safety concerns, or operational standards.
Pool Maintenance & Water Quality
- Monitor and adjust pool chemical levels to ensure compliance with local Health Code regulations.
- Address water quality concerns and maintain safe, properly balanced pool conditions.
- Deliver chemicals to assigned properties and safely handle and apply chemicals using proper tools and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Equipment & Mechanical Support
- Diagnose issues with pool-related systems and equipment.
- Perform minor mechanical repairs and coordinate further maintenance when necessary to maintain safe and efficient operations.
Reporting & Documentation
- Complete daily field reports, lifeguard surveys, and other required documentation for assigned facilities.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, chemical adjustments, and operational activities.
Staff Leadership & Support
- Serve as a field leader and primary resource for lifeguards, addressing questions and concerns promptly.
- Promote a positive team culture that encourages professionalism, teamwork, and staff retention.
Scheduling & Operational Support
- Assist with managing daily lifeguard assignments and staffing needs to ensure adequate pool coverage.
- Support the staffing team in scheduling lifeguards and responding to coverage gaps when needed.
Client & Team Communication
- Maintain professional communication with property managers, lifeguards, and internal leadership.
- Participate in operations meetings, safety briefings, and team discussions as required.
Operational Coverage & Asset Management
- Provide lifeguard coverage when necessary to ensure uninterrupted pool operations.
- Ensure proper use and care of company-issued equipment including fuel cards, mobile devices, and tools.
- Monitor and document equipment usage in accordance with company policies.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership to support operational needs.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous lifeguard experience required.
- Lifeguard certification required.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-based role.

- Comfortable providing support and leadership to seasonal staff.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
- Supervisors require flexible schedules and may work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and work overtime depending on business needs.
- Ability to work during certain holidays, particularly during peak summer months, as recruiting is critical during these times. Supervisors must be available on summer holiday days and corresponding weekends; specifically Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Fourth of July, and Labor Day.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sitting, Standing, and Walking for long durations.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy equipment (e.g., pool vacuums, filters) up to 85 lbs.
- Ability to work in water and perform physical labor.
- Typically works outdoors for prolonged periods of time, often at commercial properties (hotels, gyms, resorts).
- The role requires working in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, or cold temperatures.
- Travel to different job sites using a company vehicle or personal transportation.
Qualifications
- Leadership and team management skills, including experience supervising staff in an operational or service environment.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle scheduling, inspections, and multiple onsite priorities.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of pool operations, safety standards, and basic maintenance practices; lifeguard or aquatic management experience is highly beneficial.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address incidents, customer concerns, and operational challenges quickly and effectively.
- Comfort working on-site in an outdoor aquatic environment and adhering to safety and health guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in recreation management, hospitality, or related fields is a plus.
- CPR, First Aid, and lifeguard certifications are preferred or willingness to obtain these credentials upon hire.
