American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for an Engineering Intern for our Kingman, AZ location. This position will report to the Plant Manager.
This is an 8 week summer internship - it is paid as well as housing if necessary.

Responsibilities
- Work with management to identify new process improvement opportunities in the areas of quality, cost, performance, and preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Evaluate and analyze current process metrics and performance to identify areas requiring improvements.
- Analyze and identify opportunities to reduce process variation, improve process capabilities, and optimize process performance.
- Develop process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and productivity.
- Facilitate the deployment of new and changed processes to provide improved results.
- Develop standard procedures and policies to be followed by the Engineers.
- Assist Managers in visual management.
- Prepare project presentations for management when needed.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or master's level engineering degree program at an accredited university with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Ability to provide your own transportation to/from the job site. [local housing can be considered should it be needed]
- Ability to participate in an 8-week summer internship program.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- At least 18 years of age.
