Billing Clerk

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy in accounts receivable and payable, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent customer service skills, and proficiency in various accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices and manage accounts receivable to ensure timely payments.
• Perform account reconciliation and maintain accurate financial records.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft for data entry and billing tasks.
• Conduct credit analysis and manage revenue cycle management effectively.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries regarding billing issues.
• Assist in the preparation of journal entries and maintain accurate bookkeeping practices.
• Support the finance team with financial analysis and reporting as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in billing or accounting roles, preferably within public accounting or corporate accounting environments.
• Strong knowledge of financial concepts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, debits & credits, and double-entry bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in financial software applications; experience with Quickbooks is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate account analysis and reconciliation.
• Strong math skills and ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently.
• Effective negotiation skills for resolving billing disputes or collection issues.
