- Develop maps, graphics, dashboards, reports, and presentations that communicate complex planning information to decision-makers, elected officials, and the public.
- Prepare and implement long-range and regional planning projects that advance the Pueblo Regional Comprehensive Plan and support sustainable, coordinated growth.
- Develop GIS applications, tools, and automated workflows that improve efficiency and expand the department's analytical capabilities.
- Analyze demographic, land use, environmental, and infrastructure data to identify trends and support strategic planning decisions.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of GIS data, mapping products, and spatial analyses while incorporating emerging GIS technologies and best practices.
- Present findings to the Planning Commission, Board of County Commissioners, advisory boards, community groups, and regional partners.
- Collaborate with planners, engineers, GIS professionals, public agencies, and community stakeholders on projects that shape the future of Pueblo County.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Urban or Regional Planning, GIS, Geography, or a closely related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
- Four (4) or more years of professional planning, GIS, or related experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
- Master's degree in Urban or Regional Planning or a related field.
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ModelBuilder, Python scripting, dashboards, or other GIS automation tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting technical information to elected officials, boards, and the public.
