Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with a strong background in trench excavating around live utilities. This role is critical to ensure safe, precise, and efficient excavation on active job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators and other machinery with precision and care
- Safely excavate around live utilities (water, sewer, gas, electrical, telecom)
- Follow all safety protocols and job site procedures
- Work closely with crew members to complete projects efficiently
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Maintain awareness of surroundings to prevent damage or service interruptions
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment, especially excavators
- Demonstrated experience working around live underground utilities
- Strong understanding of job site safety practices
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented
