Job Purpose
The Branch Manager exercises complete responsibility for developing and managing a business operation that increases sales, profitability, market share and customer and employee satisfaction by directing, coordinating and monitoring all sales, branch operation and personnel development activities.
Duties
- Oversees that inventory management is consistent with sales, cash flow and financial goals.
- Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
- Responsible for developing and managing a business operation that increases sales, profitability, market share, and customer and employee satisfaction by directing, coordinating and monitoring all sales, (branch operation and personnel development activities.) Develop and implement sales and profitability plans according to account management principles and ensure the development and maintenance of account plans.
- Recommend desirable changes in the policies and goals of the branch and the organization.
- Cooperates fully with the Credit Department in extending and enforcing credit policy
- Assess local market conditions, identify current and prospective sales opportunities and develop forecasts, financial objectives and business plans for the branch.
- Responsible for resolving customer service and employee satisfaction issues promptly
- Direct all operational aspects of the branch to include distribution operations, customer service, Human resources, administration and sales in a manner that supports reaching the profitability goals.
- Conduct regular staff meetings
- Evaluate regularly the effectiveness of the branch operation, to see that policies are being observed and that goals are being attained taking prompt corrective action as needed.
- Ensures wage, bonus and commission schedules are in line with budget and operating constraints
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the branch, overseeing that work is accomplished by the managers and supervisors, and that it is consistent with corporate policies and objectives
- Oversee development plans for all employees. Establish development goals and specific training to achieve these goals.
- Manage the branch honestly, follow high ethical standards, and comply with all government regulations
- Select, promote and discharge employees within the branch in accordance with personnel policy
- Serve as the principal public relations spokesperson for the facility
- Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required.
- All other duties, as assigned. Regular and appropriate attendance is an essential function of this and all positions at APS.
