American National is seeking a full-time, Legal Assistant who will aid the in-house legal team by offering comprehensive support with contract negotiations, legal research, drafting legal memoranda, and managing caseloads. The successful candidate will be detailed oriented, enjoy reading and sharing analysis, organized, and a strong communicator.

What Will You Do
- Assist in the preparation, review, analysis, and management of contracts and other legal documents
- Provide support for Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) transactions and issues related to annuities and insurance regulations that include both due diligence and documentation
- Maintain and organize legal files, documents, and records
- Coordinate with internal departments to gather necessary information and documentation
- Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Draft and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports
- Organize, prioritize, and track deadlines for legal filings and other time-sensitive matters
- Bachelors' degree / Relevant work experience and/or certifications may be considered in lieu of education requirement
- Insurance industry experience beneficial
- Knowledge of pension risk transfer transactions and annuities, beneficial
- Demonstrated skills in legal research and analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of legal terminology and procedures
- Elevated level of discretion, honesty, and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a time sensitive work environment
- Ability to manage high priority matters effectively, efficiently, and simultaneously to adhere to deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and legal research databases
