IT Administrator
We are seeking an experienced IT professional to oversee and support our organization's technology infrastructure. This role is responsible for maintaining secure, reliable, and efficient IT systems while providing strategic guidance on future technology initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who is equally comfortable troubleshooting day-to-day issues and planning long-term infrastructure improvements.
Key Responsibilities
IT Strategy & Infrastructure
- Evaluate and improve the organization's IT infrastructure to enhance security, performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Research emerging technologies and recommend solutions that support business objectives.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, system documentation, and IT procedures.
- Develop and implement technology roadmaps for infrastructure upgrades and lifecycle planning.
Server & Systems Administration
- Administer and maintain physical and virtual server environments.
- Monitor system performance, availability, backups, and security.
- Perform operating system updates, patch management, and preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve server, storage, and infrastructure issues.
- Manage hardware and software lifecycles, including upgrades, maintenance, and end-of-life planning.
Cybersecurity
- Monitor and improve the organization's overall security posture.
- Identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, maintain, and periodically test incident response and disaster recovery procedures.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness by educating staff on security best practices and organizational policies.
End-User Support
- Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and business applications.
- Assist employees with software installation, troubleshooting, and training, including Microsoft Office and other standard business applications.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access for new hires, role changes, and employee departures.
- Coordinate desktop hardware deployments, upgrades, and replacements.
Telecommunications & Vendor Management
- Maintain and support business phone systems and communication services.
- Coordinate with technology vendors, service providers, and support partners to resolve issues and ensure service reliability.
- Manage vendor relationships, licensing, warranties, and support agreements.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10 years of progressive IT experience.
- 5 years of experience in IT leadership, systems administration, or senior technical support.
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, server administration, virtualization, and cybersecurity best practices.
- 5 years of experience administering Windows Server and virtual server environments.
- Experience administering Google Workspace.
- Experience managing third-party technology vendors.
- Ability to respond to critical issues outside normal business hours.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of McLeod Software (TMS) and experience supporting or administering transportation management systems is preferred.
- 5 years of experience with SQL and Python.
- CompTIA A , Network , Security , or equivalent industry certifications.
- Experience administering Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms.
- Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
