American Mortgage Services is a growing mortgage brokerage seeking a detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant / Mortgage Loan Analyst to support our Loan Officers and Operations Team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys analyzing income, assets, credit, and loan scenarios while helping move loans efficiently from application to closing.
Unlike a traditional Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant role focused primarily on administrative tasks, this position plays a critical role in evaluating loan files, identifying potential issues early, and helping structure loans for success before they ever reach underwriting.
The ideal candidate understands how mortgage loans work, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in catching details that others miss.
What We Are Looking For

We're looking for someone who wants to understand the complete mortgage process and can think critically through loan scenarios, anticipate underwriting concerns, and help our team deliver a smoother borrower experience.
