Position Summary:
The Correctional Clinical Nurse Liaison provides clinical support, guidance, and oversight to nursing staff placed through our healthcare staffing programs. This role serves as the primary resource for clinical issues, ensuring quality patient care, adherence to standards of practice, and compliance with client and company policies. The Clinical Nurse Liaison works collaboratively with recruitment, account management, and operations teams to support nurses in the field and address any clinical concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the clinical resource for nurses placed in healthcare facilities, providing support on scope of practice, documentation, patient care, and other clinical matters.
- Respond promptly to clinical questions, concerns, or incidents raised by field staff or client facilities.
- Conduct clinical orientation, competency assessments, and skills validations for new hires.
- Support the credentialing team by reviewing clinical qualifications, certifications, and background for nursing staff.
- Partner with recruiters and account managers to ensure appropriate staff placement based on skillset, licensure, and experience.
- Monitor and review incident reports, escalating clinical issues when appropriate, and assisting in resolution with staff and clients.
- Provide ongoing education, mentorship, and coaching to staff nurses to ensure best practices and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company and facility-specific policies.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and update clinical policies, training materials, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain current clinical knowledge through continuing education and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Current, active RN license (required).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience (acute care, correctional, or long-term care preferred depending on client mix).
- Prior experience in clinical education, quality, or nurse leadership role preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond quickly to urgent clinical matters.
- Proficiency with EMR systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and documentation processes.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid role with flexibility for remote work and occasional on-site facility visits.
- May require limited travel to client sites to conduct staff evaluations, training, or issue resolution.
