Wheelchair Driver

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Transport/Drive customers in wheelchairs to and from medical facilities and/or home in a timely manner.
Utilize mobile phone to communicate with dispatch and navigate to hospitals, medical facilities, and customer’s homes.
Complete Trip Sheet for each call to service
Ensure wheelchair van is maintained and is in good working order
Responsible for completing mechanical checklist for vehicle at the start of each shift
Report mechanical problems to Fleet
Adhere to HIPAA regulations, all company policies, procedures and compliance requirements
Know and follow information systems security policies and procedures
Successful completion of company driver’s training
Successful completion of CPR First Aid training
Read maps, and accurately discern street signs and address numbers
Operate wheelchair, hydraulic lift, wheelchair lift, mobile phone, and radio.
Manage disposable supplies, take care of durable equipment, and use time clock.
When not transporting people, you will be helping around the office with various tasks, cleaning and stocking ambulances, and helping with supply inventory.
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work in high stress situations
Able to multi-task
Some healthcare experience preferred
Education
High School diploma or GED
Credentials/Licenses
AHA BLS Certification preferred, can be obtained within first week after hire.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Working Conditions
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
Physical Demands
Good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition that would not be adversely affected by frequently having to walk, stand, lift, carry, and balance at times.
Must be able to lift, drag, hoist, and carry different types of equipment and other objects.
Mental Requirements
Ability to use good problems-solving and critical thinking skills
