Position Summary
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to oversee food safety and quality operations during 2nd shift. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with GMPs, HACCP, and regulatory requirements while leading QA Technicians and supporting production.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on the production floor and can make real-time decisions to protect product quality and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead QA operations during 2nd shift production
- Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, USDA, and food safety standards
- Monitor production processes and perform quality checks (weight, specs, labeling)
- Oversee product holds, releases, and nonconformance investigations
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Train, coach, and support QA Technicians
- Partner with Production and Maintenance to resolve quality issues
- Maintain accurate documentation and quality records
- Support audits and ensure audit readiness at all times
Qualifications
- 2 years of QA experience in food manufacturing (USDA preferred)
- Prior leadership or lead experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Ability to work in a cold, fast-paced production environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
- Meat or protein processing
- BRC/BRCGS environment
- HACCP certification
