American Marine is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Parts & Service Manager for our Algona, IA location! This pivotal position is full-time/year-round, and oversees inventory control, supplier relationships, procurement processes, and customer service operations. Ideal for a driven individual, this position combines office, retail counter, and service shop environments where your leadership will ensure smooth workflows and deliver outstanding support to our customers and team members.

Job Functions, Responsibilities, & Authority:
Service Department:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the parts and service departments
- Help manage workflow to ensure timely completion of service jobs
- Coordinate scheduling of technicians and service appointments
- Create, update, monitor, & close part/repair orders
- Review repair orders for accuracy, proper billing, and margin control
- Monitor service lot and report status of boats
Parts Department:
- Monitor parts stocking and inventory reports
- Place & track parts orders from multiple manufacturer & dealer sites
- Receive parts into system as they arrive and route to the shop or customer
- Route parts to technicians, special order customers, or shelves as needed
- Look up parts for customers and technicians
- Maintain & monitor Ship's Store and Parts Room inventory
Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve escalated customer concerns
- Communicate schedule updates, timelines, and estimates clearly to customers
- Ensure a positive customer experience from check-in through delivery
- Exceptional customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and team leadership
- Arrange & collect customer payments once work is complete or parts received
Team Leadership:
- Supervise staff performance and promote a customer-focused service culture
- Support hiring, training, and development of parts and service staff
- Help enforce company policies, procedures, and performance standards
- Schedule and manage staff productivity
- Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Assist in tracking departmental KPIs (labor hours, efficiency, parts margins, etc.)
- Support efforts to meet or exceed revenue and gross profit goals
- Set and meet ongoing company goals
Inter-Departmental Relationships
- Sales Team: collaborate to prepare sold boats for delivery and schedule trade checks
Qualifications:
- Marine, automotive, or recreational dealership experience preferred
- Maintains pleasant, friendly attitude towards coworkers and customers
- Maintains organized work area
- Create a fun environment for customers/fellow employees
- Strong communication skills (verbal & written) & attention to detail
- Commitment to continuous learning of product lines, features, options, etc
- Valid driver’s license
