Growing marine canvas and upholstery company specializing in custom yacht covers, enclosures, shades, upholstery, and superyacht soft goods throughout South Florida. We combine traditional craftsmanship with advanced digital templating and CNC manufacturing.
We are looking for an experienced CAD / 3D Pattern Designer to join our production team.
Position Overview
This position is for someone who can handle the complete digital templating workflow from 3D scan/template to CNC-ready production files.
The ideal candidate understands marine fabrication, soft goods, and pattern development, and is comfortable working with ExactFlat, Rhino, AutoCAD, and CNC cutting systems.
Responsibilities
- Create accurate 3D digital templates for marine canvas and upholstery projects
- Use Proliner / Prodim systems to capture measurements and geometry
- Build and modify 3D models in Rhino and/or AutoCAD
- Convert 3D surfaces into flattened production-ready patterns using ExactFlat
- Prepare nested CNC cutting files for automated cutting tables
- Optimize material usage and nesting layouts
- Collaborate with installers, fabricators, and production staff
- Maintain organized digital project files and revision control
- Assist with pattern corrections and production troubleshooting when needed
Requirements
- Experience with ExactFlat
- Experience with Rhino and AutoCAD
- Experience using Proliner / Prodim digital templating systems
- Understanding of pattern flattening and soft goods manufacturing
- Experience preparing files for CNC cutting tables
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and solve production issues
- Marine canvas, upholstery, sailmaking, automotive upholstery, or industrial fabric experience preferred
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of marine fabrics such as Sunbrella, Stamoid, Serge Ferrari, vinyls, and foam applications
- Understanding of sewing allowances, seams, stretch, and fabrication constraints
- CNC nesting optimization experience
- Experience with large yacht or superyacht projects
