Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results and opening and closing the store.
- Maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Reconciliation of all funds from depositing daily sales and maintenance of financial records.
- Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
- Ensures availability of merchandise and services by maintaining inventories.
- Formulates pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends.
- Markets merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analyzing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios.
- Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
- Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
- Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.
- Determine marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and five to ten years of retail management experience and/or training required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and of the employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Able to calculate square feet requirements and linear feet.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
General knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Arkansas Driver’s License and excellent driving record required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to receive and carry out verbal and written instructions; ability to effectively operate simple mechanical devices and hand tools; ability to communicate with employees, managers, and professionals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk; physical stamina to remain on feet for the greatest part of working day. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
