Managed Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM | After-hours as needed
American Machine LLC is hiring a Welding Manager to take over leadership of our welding and fabrication department — a role currently managed by one of the company’s owners. As part of a planned transition, the current owner will provide hands-on training and support to ensure a smooth and successful handoff.
This is a hands-on leadership role, not a desk job. The Welding Manager is expected to work directly on the shop floor, perform fabrication and welding as needed, and then delegate tasks while ensuring team productivity, safety, and quality.
You will report to the Operations Manager and play a critical role in maintaining our reputation for high-quality work and reliable delivery.

Key Responsibilities- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed before delegating to the team
- Supervise and coordinate daily welding operations
- Maintain high standards of quality and safety on the shop floor
- Conduct weld inspections and ensure compliance with ASME and NDE standards
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to schedule and prioritize work
- Support a smooth transition of departmental responsibilities from the current owner
- Mentor and train welders to maintain and improve skill levels
- Maintain shop cleanliness and enforce safety protocols
- Minimum 5 years of welding/fabrication experience (pipe, pressure vessels, structural)
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a welding or fabrication environment
- Proficient in MIG welding (GMAW and FCAW)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols
- Ability to pass ASME 1G GMAW P1 and 1G FCAW P1/P8 weld tests
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license (required)
- Welding certification (required or obtainable upon hire)
