Position Summary:
The Root Cause Analyst is responsible for investigating, analyzing, and resolving quality and production issues within LEE Industries’ high-end furniture manufacturing process. This role focuses on identifying the root causes of rework, repairs, and out-of-flow items to drive improvements in product quality and manufacturing efficiency. The position requires a hands-on problem solver with strong technical and analytical skills, particularly in using AutoCAD and interpreting product specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct root cause analysis for internal rework, repairs, and out-of-flow production items to determine sources of defects or inefficiencies.
- Utilize AutoCAD to measure and compare fabric parts, frames, poly, cushions, and back pillow dimensions against product specification sheets.
- Collaborate closely with production associates to address daily manufacturing issues and develop effective corrective actions.
- Partner with management to implement process improvements that enhance factory efficiency and reduce quality-related waste.
- Work with the Product Development team to make pattern adjustments and design modifications that improve product build, fit, and performance.
- Support the Continuous Improvement team in evaluating and refining manufacturing processes to elevate overall product quality and consistency.
- Document findings, corrective actions, and process changes in a clear and organized manner for reporting and training purposes.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide data-driven recommendations to enhance product quality and production flow.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Quality Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, or process improvement (furniture or upholstery experience preferred).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis tools and methods (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, Pareto Analysis).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for improving quality and efficiency in a hands-on production environment.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily on-site in a manufacturing environment.
- Frequent interaction with production floor associates, engineers, and management.
- Some standing, measuring, and hands-on inspection required.
