What are the responsibilities and job description for the Robotics Teacher position at American Leadership Academy?
Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.
American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for a Robotics Teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year at our Gilbert North High School campus. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and deliver lessons on robotics, engineering principles, programming, and related STEM subjects.
- Teach students how to design, build, and program robots using various hardware and software tools.
- Integrate theory with practical, project-based learning experiences.
- Align curriculum with educational standards and robotics competition requirement.
- Maintain and organize robotics lab, tools, kits, and equipment.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all hands-on activities and competitions.
- Troubleshoot and repair robotics components and software as needed.
- Coach and mentor robotics teams for local, regional, and national competitions.
- Plan and coordinate team practices, workshops, and competition logistics.
- Encourage teamwork, strategic thinking, and innovation during competitions.
- Evaluate student performance through projects, tests, and presentations.
- Provide individualized support and feedback to help students improve technical skills and understanding.
- Foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration among students.
- Work with school staff, parents, and community partners to support the robotics program.
- Seek grants, sponsorships, or partnerships to fund and enhance the robotics curriculum.
- Participate in professional development and stay current with advances in robotics and education technology.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Arizona Teaching Certificate or 24 credit hours in area or Content knowledge exams (AEPA, NES, Praxis)
