What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-K Director position at American Leadership Academy?
Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.
American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for a Pre-K Director for the 2025-2026 academic year. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for parents and staff regarding Pre-K related inquiries and concerns.
- Address general questions, provide support, and direct any serious issues or concerns to the campus Director.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Pre-K teaching team and staff.
- Be a resource for teachers in terms of answering questions, troubleshooting concerns, or directing issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children.
- Engage students in active learning through discussions, hands-on activities, and projects.
- Manage classroom activities including lessons, play, breaks, and meals.
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a productive learning
atmosphere.
- Foster open communication with students, parents, and guardians regarding student progress,
behavior, and any concerns.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional learning communities.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with educational practices,
technologies, and subject matter.
- Prepare and submit reports, lesson plans, and other required documentation in a timely
manner.
- Manage classroom resources and materials, ensuring their proper use and maintenance.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the development of school policies and
programs.
- Ensure a safe and secure classroom environment, following school safety protocols and
procedures.
- Adhere to school and district policies, including those related to student health and safety.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood education
- Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance card
- 2 years of full-time teaching experience serving children from birth through grade 3
- Completion of a board-approved teacher preparation program in Early Childhood Education or similar program from an accredited institution
- Current immunizations & TB test
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Food handler’s card
