The American Jewish Congress is seeking a creative, strategic, and entrepreneurial Social Media Growth & Engagement Manager to help grow one of the nation's oldest Jewish organizations for a new generation. You'll build digital campaigns that reach policymakers, journalists, students, community leaders, and supporters around the world, using compelling storytelling, emerging technologies, and data-driven strategy to inspire action and expand our impact.
This is an opportunity to own meaningful work from day one. You'll help shape our voice across social media, grow our digital community, experiment with AI-powered content creation, and support campaigns that influence public policy, strengthen the Jewish community, combat antisemitism, and deepen U.S.-Israel relations. Familiarity with international affairs, politics, U.S.-Israel relations, and the American Jewish community is strongly preferred.
What You'll Do
Audience Growth & Community Building: Expand our reach across Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms. Build an engaged online community by creating meaningful conversations, responding to supporters, and helping new audiences discover the American Jewish Congress.
Content Creation & Storytelling: Design and create compelling content—including graphics, short-form videos, email campaigns, social posts, and digital storytelling—that educates, inspires, and motivates people to take action.
Digital Campaigns: Develop and execute campaigns that support our advocacy, public policy, fundraising, leadership, events, and community engagement initiatives.
Content Strategy & Planning: Lead our digital content strategy by developing and managing the social media content calendar, ensuring timely, consistent, and impactful messaging across platforms.
Short-Form Video & AI Innovation: Help grow our presence through Reels, Shorts, and emerging video formats. Integrate AI tools to generate ideas, create and test content variations, improve workflows, and optimize performance.
Analytics & Optimization: Track audience growth, engagement, and campaign performance. Use data and analytics to refine strategy, identify opportunities, and continually improve results.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with colleagues across the organization to support digital initiatives that advance advocacy, fundraising, communications, and organizational priorities.
Qualifications
Digital Storyteller: You know how to turn complex ideas into engaging content that people actually want to read, watch, and share.
Excellent Writer: You have strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone and messaging for different audiences and platforms.
Video and Graphics Creator: You have experience creating compelling short-form video content and understand what performs well across today's social platforms. You are skilled in graphic design, visual storytelling, and the use of professional editing software and AI-powered creative tools to produce high-quality digital content.
Social Media Native: You stay current with emerging platforms, trends, and best practices, and understand how content should be tailored for each audience.
Creative & Entrepreneurial: You're curious, proactive, and excited to test new ideas. You thrive in a fast-moving environment and enjoy taking ownership of projects.
Data-Informed: You're skilled at reviewing analytics, presenting performance-based results, and using insights to improve future content and campaigns.
Experience: You’ve had hands-on experience creating or managing social media content through professional roles, internships, campus organizations, volunteer work, or personal projects is preferred.
Globally Curious: You have a genuine interest in current events, international affairs, and public policy. You're the kind of person who enjoys staying on top of the news and proactively thinking about how it applies to advocacy efforts. Passion for the American Jewish Congress's mission and core policy is a strong advantage.
