Store Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

American Jewelry and Loan is a family-owned pawn business with five locations across Metro Detroit. We're looking for an experienced retail store manager ready to move out of a corporate structure and into a role where you directly control — and directly benefit from — your store's performance.

This is a transition role: you'll spend roughly 6–18 months learning pawn and lending operations alongside experienced leadership before stepping into full P&L ownership of a location. No pawn experience required — we're hiring for proven management ability and mindset, and training the industry knowledge.

This role is not for someone early in their management career or between jobs looking for a stepping stone. We're looking for someone with a demonstrated record — not potential, a record.

What You're Bringing

• 2 years (ideally longer) in your current or most recent store manager role, with direct P&L accountability — not just assisting or covering for one
• A track record you can speak to specifically: sales growth you drove, shrink or cost you controlled, targets you hit and how
• Proven hiring and training results — team members you brought on and developed who are still there, or who moved up
• Stability in your work history — we're looking for people who commit and follow through, not frequent movers
• Comfort managing daily operations end to end: scheduling, inventory, staff performance, customer experience
