Role Description
This is a full time/part-time hybrid role for a Sterile Processing Technician Professor based in Piscataway, NJ, with some teaching work-from-home flexibility. The professor will deliver instruction to students on sterilization techniques, surgical instrument processing, infection prevention, and related topics. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting lesson plans, evaluating student performance, developing engaging course materials, and mentoring students to meet industry standards. Collaborating with colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment and staying updated on advancements in the field will also be essential.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Sterile Processing, infection control practices, and instrument decontamination techniques
- Experience in teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician by a recognized body (e.g., CBSPD or IAHCSMM)
- Proficiency with hybrid and online learning tools
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in sterile processing or a related field
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Ability to inspire and mentor students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles
