Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator
Status: Full-time
The EHS Coordinator is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company’s Environmental, Health and Safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. This role promotes a safe and compliant workplace through training, inspections, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support implementation and administration of EHS policies, programs, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and applicable environmental and safety regulations- both federal, state and local
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, injuries; assist with corrective actions and root cause analysis
- Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, training logs, SDS documentation, and compliance files
- Coordinate employee safety training, onboarding, and annual refresher programs
- Assist with hazardous waste management, chemical handling and environmental compliance activities
- Monitor and support PPE compliance and safe work practices throughout the facility
- Participate in emergency response planning, drills, and safety committee meetings
- Track corrective and preventative actions to completion
- Partners with managers and employees to promote a strong safety culture
- Assist with workers’ compensation and return-to-work documentation as needed
- Support contractor safety and visitor safety procedures
- Prepare reports and metrics related to safety performance and compliance trends
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science
- 1-3 years of EHS or safety experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, industrial, warehouse or related environments preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and general EHS compliance requirements
- Experience conducting safety inspections and incident investigations
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and reporting systems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
- CPR/First Aid Certifications
- OSHA 30-hour Certification
- Familiarity with ISO standards, GMP environments, or environmental permitting
- Experience with safety management systems and compliance software
Physical Requirements:
- Employees may be required to lift or handle objects not more than 50 pounds to perform certain duties essential to the job function
- Performance of tasks essential to the job function may require the employee to work directly with, handle, or otherwise come into contact with chemicals or pharmaceutical agents (including potent compounds)
Training:
- Must successfully complete all departmental training modules and meet the requirements as part of ongoing training.
- Must successfully complete all material handling training/verification as part of ongoing training.
