Role Description The Wellness Director is a full-time, on-site role located in Grosse Pointe, MI. This role oversees the planning, coordination, and evaluation of wellness programs that support residents’ physical, emotional, and social health. Daily responsibilities include assessing wellness needs, developing and implementing wellness initiatives, and collaborating with care teams to promote holistic health. The Wellness Director monitors program effectiveness, maintains accurate documentation, and ensures compliance with community policies and applicable regulations. This role also involves mentoring and training staff on wellness best practices, managing wellness-related budgets, and communicating regularly with residents, families, and team members to support a safe, engaging, and compassionate environment.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in Health & Wellness and Wellness program development, with a focus on older adult populations.
- Experience with Budgeting and resource management for wellness and care-related programs.
- Training skills, including the ability to educate and coach staff on wellness practices and resident care.
- Relevant education or certification in nursing, health sciences, social work, gerontology, or a related field preferred.
- Leadership experience in senior living, healthcare, or community wellness settings is highly beneficial.
- Working knowledge of senior living regulations and best practices in resident safety and quality of life.
- Ability to work on-site, adapt to changing resident needs, and maintain high professional and ethical standards.
