📍 Senior Living | Regional Role - SE Michigan
American House is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our senior living communities across an assigned region. This role partners closely with Executive Directors, regional operations leaders, and the corporate HR team to help communities attract, develop, and retain strong teams while ensuring consistent, fair, and compliant people practices.
The HRBP provides both hands‑on support and strategic guidance, using data and field insights to address staffing challenges, improve retention, resolve employee issues, and strengthen workplace culture—directly impacting resident satisfaction and community performance.
đź’Ľ Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Compliance
• Serve as the primary HR contact for employee relations matters within the region
• Conduct fair, timely investigations and provide leader guidance
• Ensure consistent use of documentation, discipline, and termination processes
• Support compliance with employment laws and senior living regulations
Onboarding & Integration
• Ensure new hires receive structured, welcoming onboarding experiences
• Conduct 30‑, 60‑, and 90‑day check‑ins to support successful transitions
• Provide HR systems and process training to leaders
Compensation & Retention
• Conduct wage reviews and market analysis in partnership with Operations and FP&A
• Address pay equity and wage compression issues
• Advise leaders on recognition and incentive practices that support engagement and retention
Recruitment & Workforce Planning
• Partner with Executive Directors and Talent Acquisition to plan staffing needs and fill key roles
• Support hiring for leadership and clinical positions, including interview participation as needed
• Ensure offers align with approved headcount and compensation guidelines
• Support onboarding and early retention of new leaders
• Maintain regional succession plans and identify “ready now” talent
Performance Management & Leadership Support
• Help leaders set clear, measurable goals aligned with business priorities
• Support performance reviews, coaching conversations, and development planning
• Guide leaders through performance improvement processes and documentation
Employee Engagement & Culture
• Promote a positive, respectful workplace aligned with American House values
• Support engagement surveys and help leaders act on results
• Partner with communities on initiatives to improve morale, communication, and teamwork
HR Systems & Data
• Use HRIS systems (Dayforce preferred) to track trends and key workforce metrics
• Provide reporting on turnover, overtime, training, and compliance
• Train leaders on HR systems and ensure proper usage
Projects & Change Management
• Lead or support regional and company‑wide HR initiatives
• Help implement new programs, policies, and tools
• Identify risks and support smooth execution of change initiatives
âś… Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, including regional or multi‑site support
• Senior living, healthcare, or hospitality experience strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of Michigan employment law
• HR certification (SHRM‑CP, PHR, or higher) preferred
• Strong communication, judgment, and coaching skills
• Data‑driven mindset with comfort using HR metrics to guide decisions
• Ability to travel regularly within the assigned region
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
