We are seeking a passionate and hands-on Culinary Director to lead all dining operations and deliver exceptional, restaurant-quality meals for residents and guests. This leadership role combines culinary excellence, team development, operational management, and resident engagement to create memorable dining experiences every day.
Key Responsibilities- Lead daily kitchen and dining operations to ensure exceptional food quality and service
- Plan, prepare, and present nutritious, restaurant-quality meals and desserts
- Manage food, supply, labor, and operational budgets while maintaining quality standards
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop culinary team members
- Create staff schedules and ensure appropriate coverage for all meal services
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
- Foster meaningful relationships with residents by engaging with them during meal service and gathering feedback
- Coordinate food service and catering support for special events and community functions
- Oversee onboarding and ongoing training programs for culinary staff
- Monitor equipment maintenance and ensure proper use of kitchen resources
- Partner with community leadership to support resident satisfaction and operational excellence
- Maintain all required regulatory and company compliance standards
- Minimum 4 years of culinary leadership experience, including staff management and scheduling
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing kitchen budgets and food costs
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, dietary services, hospitality, or related food service environments preferred
- Strong culinary skills with the ability to execute diverse menu offerings
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and operational management capabilities
- Passion for serving seniors and creating outstanding resident experiences
- ServSafe Certification required (or ability to obtain and maintain)
