Small residential remodeling company serving Bergen County and surrounding North Jersey areas is seeking a dependable, motivated Remodeling Helper / Handyman Assistant for full-time work.
We offer steady, year-round employment with consistent hours and opportunities for growth. This position is ideal for someone with experience in residential construction, remodeling, painting, drywall repair, and general handyman work who wants long-term, stable work.
Pay:
- $28–32 per hour based on experience
- Starting rate typically $28/hour
- Performance review after 90 days with opportunity for increase based on reliability, workmanship, and productivity
- Full-time position (approximately 40 hours per week)
- Steady year-round work
Responsibilities:
- Interior and exterior painting
- Drywall repair, spackling, sanding, and touch-ups
- Basic carpentry and trim work
- Demolition and job site preparation
- Installation of fixtures, hardware, and finish materials
- Use of common hand tools and power tools
- Material pickup and transport as needed
- Maintain clean and professional job sites
Requirements:
- Experience in residential remodeling, handyman work, or construction
- Ability to use power tools safely and correctly
- You own work truck/van and valid driver's license
- Ability to lift and carry construction materials
- Professional appearance and respectful communication with homeowners
- Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently when needed
Preferred:
- Experience with trim carpentry
- Basic knowledge of drywall finishing and painting
- Experience working in occupied homes
- Own basic hand tools
