What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter/Assembler position at American Hofmann, corp?
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Clean/remove rough spots on materials and sand all surfaces to be painted
· Mask the areas not to be painted with tape and paper
· Apply primer and finishing coats using spray-guns
· Touch up paintwork if needed
· Treat surfaces with rust-proofing chemicals when applicable
· Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags and unpainted areas
· Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair
· Keeps work area clean
· Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer
· Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials
· Reports any deviations to management
· Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles
· Other tasks as assigned
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
· Knowledge of paint prep a plus, but not required
· Will train the right candidate
