Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Material Handler and become a vital part of our fast-paced warehouse operation! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and handling of materials to ensure smooth logistics flow. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help us meet production schedules, support shipping and receiving operations, and maintain a safe, organized warehouse environment.
Responsibilities: (but are not limited to the following)
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments of raw materials and components
- Safely transport materials within the facility using pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment
- Supply production lines with necessary materials according to the production schedule
- Move finished products to designated storage areas or shipping departments
- Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or other inventory management systems
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
- Assist in managing and organizing warehouse space for optimal storage efficiency
- Inspect materials for damage, defects, or contamination before use in production
- Ensure that materials are stored in compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and other regulatory requirements
- Follow proper labeling and documentation procedures to maintain traceability
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Comply with all company policies, including health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and transactions
- Prepare and submit reports related to material usage, inventory levels, and production requirements
- Assist in generating and maintaining batch records and other necessary documentation
- Work closely with production, quality assurance, and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate material availability
- Communicate any issues related to material shortages, delays, or quality concerns to the relevant departments
- Other responsibilities as assigned by Senior Management
Education and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in material handling, preferably in a nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing environment
- Experience with inventory management systems and warehouse operations
- High school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Additional certifications in material handling or warehouse operations are a plus
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and inventory management software
Physical Demands:
- Required to reach with arms and use hands and fingers to handle or feel
- Required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, bend, sit, talk, hear, and climb a ladder
- The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 lbs or more
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Work Environment:
- Work in an office environment but also at very close proximity to heavy machinery in the warehouse and powders from products
- May be in contact with Allergens (Milk, Eggs, Fish, Crustacean Shellfish. Tree Nuts, Peanuts, Wheat, and Soybeans)
- Potential to move between office and warehouse areas to complete job functions
- This position is onsite
