What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at AMERICAN GI FORUM NATIONA?
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
NOTE: These job duties are not all-encompassing of the responsibilities and duties (or other terms) that are required of the employee and may change at any time with or without notice.
- Perform general cleanup of all areas of the inside of the building as directed.
- Remove garbage from all trash bins daily.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors.
- Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, and restock soap dispensers.
- Wipe mirrors, windows, doorknobs, rails, elevator to sanitize the areas.
- Maintain outer premises by watering plants, cleaning entrances, and parking lot.
- Undertake occasional janitorial tasks such as moving chairs, tables, etc.
- Maintain the supply and equipment needed for cleaning duties.
- Meet with supervisor to make timely requests for items needed to perform the cleaning duties.
- Dust furniture and other office items.
- wash linens, reset residential rooms
- Must be able to complete supply orders to replenish cleaning products.
- Will assist in the set-up, arranging, and removing decorations, tables, chairs for meeting and events.
- Must be familiar with the safety requirements of cleaning products.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Work independently
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Ability to interact with staff in a professional, polite, and courteous manner.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of work experience in cleaning buildings. The applicant must have no criminal record and possess a valid Texas Driver’s License. Ability to work well under minimal supervision.
