General Responsibilities: The Platemaker is directed daily by the Press Ready People & Performance Coach. Prepares plates for mounting and installation in flexographic printing presses and is responsible for quality/productivity associated with materials processed through assigned machinery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
Lifts and places photopolymer sheets into exposure, processing and finishing equipment. Checks quality using various instrumentation. Checks plates versus supplied proofs to verify accuracy.
Trim plates as needed for ease of mounting. Other duties may be assigned.

- An associate degree in Industrial Technology or related field
- Computer skills in Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
- Color Management.
- 5-15 years related experience and training in printing process.
- Basic knowledge of plastic films.
- Basic knowledge of solvent base and water base inks.
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling are required.
- Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force to move objects.
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing computer and working within arm’s reach.
