Machine Operator – Flexible Packaging (Pouch / Bag Making)
Location: Jeffersonville, IN
Department: Production
Shift: 2nd Shift, 2:00pm-10:30pm
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Position Summary
The Machine Operator runs flexible packaging equipment used to produce pouches and bags. The role includes machine setup, operation, adjustment, and basic troubleshooting while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards. Operators are responsible for understanding how their equipment performs and making real-time adjustments to keep production stable and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate pouching or bag-making machines in a production environment
- Perform setup, changeovers, and start-up procedures
- Monitor machine conditions and adjust speed, temperature, sealing, and alignment
- Identify and correct minor mechanical or process issues
- Perform in-process quality checks to ensure product meets specifications
- Handle roll stock, film, and related materials
- Complete basic preventive maintenance tasks
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety requirements, and GMP practices
- Accurately document production and quality data
- Work with team members to maintain production flow and meet targets
Qualifications
Required
- 1 year of experience operating manufacturing equipment
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to make basic machine adjustments
- Experience with setup, changeovers, or machine operation
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain consistency
- Reliable attendance
Preferred
- Flexible packaging, pouching, or bag-making experience
- Heat sealing or ultrasonic sealing experience
- Lamination, slitting, or rewinding experience
- Experience with roll stock, film, or similar materials
- Experience in high-speed production environments

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing environment with moving equipment and noise
- Standing for extended periods
- Lifting up to 40 lbs as needed
- Exposure to heat, motion, and production materials
Pay: $22.25 - $24.25 per hour
