Wastewater Technician

Overview

Green Bay Dressed Beef Processing , an American Foods Group Company has an opportunity for a Wastewater Operator at our East River Plant, in Green Bay, WI.

As Wastewater Technician You Will

• Perform daily oiling and greasing to ensure equipment operates efficiently and effectively.
• Perform daily chemical drawdowns and conduct jar tests to measure and monitor parts per million (PPM) of chemical dosage.
• Clean probes and perform daily probe calibrations to ensure they are within the acceptable PH ranges; document PH levels.
• Use water and chemicals to scrub, wash, and rinse tankers.
• Visually monitor water speed and chemical delivery to Dissolved Air Flotation Device (DAF), document findings every 15 minutes; troubleshoot and make chemistry, flow, and air adjustments as necessary.
• Visually inspect and check pumps for proper output.
• Oversee chemical delivery to Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Sanimax; ensure all safety procedures are followed.
• Use pallet jack to change out fat combos and wash out empty combos (as needed).
• Monitor incoming water pit and holding pit levels.
• Complete required paperwork (DAF log, PH log, chemical log, water quality, etc.)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to perform the job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday with daily overtime. Must be able to work overtime as required. Start times and hours vary based on production needs.
• Must be able to successfully complete training:
• Safety.
• Safe Quality Food (SQF).
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).
• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Food defense.
• Lock out/Tag out.
• Chemical.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior quality assurance experience in a USDA inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
• Prior production experience.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Strong communications skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to troubleshoot operating errors and make timely decisions on how to resolve problem(s).
• Ability to work safely, wear PPE, work around chemicals, and follow safety rules.
• Ability to work closely and/or train with operators on all shifts sharing information about daily Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) operations.
