JOB DESCRIPTION – BSA ANALYST
BSA DEPARTMENT
AMERICAN FIRST NATIONAL BANK (AFNB)

1. Supports the Bank’s BSA Program to ensure that BSA regulatory requirements are met.
2. Review of account opening documentation (including entity corporate documentation like bylaws, corporate resolutions, etc.), information, and due diligence research for new and existing clients inclusive of W-8/9 forms when applicable.
3. Prepares Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), screen Monetary Instruments logs, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and 314 (a) databases. Ensures these tasks are performed in a timely manner to meet regulatory deadlines and at a minimal error rate.
4. Research and respond to 314(b) requests in a timely manner.
5. Reviews CTRs for accuracy and as a form of dual control.
6. Investigates and monitor customer (including High Risk customer) transactions and/or behaviors associated with the Bank products or services through the use of the AML software, internal reports and leads from internal or external sources, or as assigned by the Senior BSA Analyst, BSA Supervisor or the BSA Officer.
7. Communicates with the Account Officer (if necessary) to fill in Know Your Customer (KYC) and/or Customer Due Diligence gaps or questions that cannot be explained by reviewing available data or transactions, with Teller and Branch Manager about exceptions identified, and to document such communication in the case files.
8. Track and report outstanding CDD/ EDD exception items to ensure completion.
9. Ensures timely and accurate research, effective investigation, customer due diligence or enhanced due diligence of customer activities and transactions, including customer identification.
10. Participates in job-specific training and other Bank-training program requirements regarding investigative techniques, internal systems, and BSA Department Policies and Procedures, BSA laws and regulations.
11. Complies with all federal laws and state laws and regulations and Bank Policies and Procedures.
12. Other duties as assigned by the Senior BSA Analyst, BSA Supervisor or the BSA Officer.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1) A self-starting team player who possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
2) Must have a minimum of two years prior experience working directly in BSA/AML with experience in the preparation of all BSA reports. Equivalent banking experience of five years may be substituted for the degree requirement.
3) Strong knowledge of BSA, AML/CIP/OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act Regulations is required. AML industry Certification is preferred, but not required.
4) Must possess a solid PC and Microsoft Office program skills. Knowledge of GlobalVision Patriot Officer is preferred, but not required.
5) Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to interact with all levels of Bank personnel.
6) Attention to detail is required, and must be able to work beyond office hours (if necessary) to complete tasks and assignments.
