Fire Sprinkler Inspector RME-I
About the Role
This role reports to the Branch Manager and is located in San Antonio, TX. AFS is looking for Fire Sprinkler RME-I Inspector for immediate opportunities. The preferred candidate will have Fire Sprinkler Inspector experience with an RME-I, and FAL for commercial, industrial, and multi-family buildings.
What you’ll do (day to day)
- Inspect, maintain, test fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes. Have working knowledge of sprinkler controls, alarm panels, devices and components.
- You will need to communicate with internal and external customers as well as offsite monitoring companies.
- Proper use and operation of tools required to complete the inspection ex. heat and smoke detector kit, backflow kit, pump equipment, etc.
- Plan, coordinate, and complete inspections as scheduled.
- Required to be in an on-call status as required by location to handle emergency service and inspection request.
- Record and report deficiencies of fire protection systems to customers.
- Understand and follow AFS’s Safety program, SDS book, Hazardous communication program, policies, and procedures. Fire Sprinkler Inspectors must know where all related safety documentation is at all times.
- Train inspector trainees.
Required Education and Experience
- Strong working knowledge of life safety and NFPA codes is preferred.
- State of Texas RME-I License - REQUIRED.
- Fire Alarm License - REQUIRED.
- Candidates must have a valid Texas driver's license.
- Candidates must be local to the San Antonio area.
- Candidates must have recent experience.
- Working knowledge of sprinkler controls, alarm panels, devices, and critical components
- Willing to perform testing and maintenance.
- Able to complete documentation as necessary, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Willing to coordinate between inspection deficiencies and service required to correct the found deficiencies.
- Prepared to read and write English clearly.
- Capability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) and the general public.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a drug test per company policy.
