American Financial Solutions (AFS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve financial stability through education, counseling, and debt management solutions. We are seeking a compassionate, customer-focused Credit Counselor to join our team.
What You'll Do
- Provide financial counseling and education to individuals seeking help with debt and budgeting.
- Assess clients' financial situations and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Develop personalized action plans to help clients reach their financial goals.
- Educate clients on budgeting, credit management, and debt repayment strategies.
- Discuss Debt Management Plan (DMP) options when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
- Follow up with clients and provide ongoing support throughout their financial journey.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong listening, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Comfortable working with computers and multiple applications.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
Preferred
- Experience in customer service, financial services, banking, collections, counseling, or nonprofit services.
- Knowledge of personal finance, budgeting, credit, or debt management.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
