What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Product Analyst, New Product Development (Hybrid) position at American Family Insurance?
As the Product Analyst you will use your proactive and strategic thinking skills. You will manage the technical aspects of Personal Lines Insurance product development and contribute to the broader enterprise strategy through informed insights. You will focus on developing new or enhanced insurance products that improve the Homeowners line of business using contract language, underwriting rules/guidelines, system/platform, automation and use of pricing/predictive analytics. You will identify potential markets, create strategic plans for market entry, manage the product development lifecycle, and improve insurance products to increase profitability, increase growth and improve customer experience. We ask that you have a high level of analytical skill, generating insights and creating cost benefit analysis using performance metrics, customer feedback, market trends, and competitor activities. After implementation, you will monitor performance, including customer and agent satisfaction and financial benefits realization.
You will report to Senior Manager, Product.
In this hybrid role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from the office. You should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110; Denver, CO 80112; Hopkins, MN; Keene, NH 03431; St. Joseph, MO 64507; Phoenix, AZ 85034. Madison & Boston are strongly preferred.

Primary Accountabilities
- Provides information to leadership/management that will affect profit and growth plan execution on an ongoing basis.
- Develops reports, analysis, or recommended strategies related to product development or enhancement, product language, underwriting guidelines, processes, and agent business practices.
- Analyzes information and presents opportunities to improve product or business practices and procedures.
- Monitors effectiveness of current products and recommends changes and/or enhancements to management.
- Analyzes information and/or data in support of the formulation and execution of operational plans.
- May specialize in supporting pricing activities related to rate reviews, profit and loss ratio-based reviews, experience rating programs.
- Researches philosophies and strategies that support growth and long-term profitability goals.
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
- Demonstrated experience with various PC software applications and Microsoft Office products.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of insurance product design and underwriting concepts in area of expertise.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of market research and marketplace trends in insurance coverage.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies, practices, techniques and tools.
- Up to 10%.
