We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Dermatology Medical Assistant (MA) to support providers in delivering high-quality patient care. This role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities, including assisting with dermatologic procedures, patient intake, documentation, and care coordination. The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures (e.g., biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy)
- Assist providers during dermatologic procedures, including sterile setup and instrument handling
- Perform patient intake: record medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints
- Take clinical photographs and assist with documentation in the EMR
- Provide post-procedure care instructions and patient education
- Clean and sterilize instruments and maintain exam room readiness
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
- Handle prior authorizations, referrals, and prescription processing
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Coordinate lab specimens and pathology tracking
- Support front desk operations as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required; MA certification preferred
- 1 year of clinical experience, dermatology experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team environment
