The specific job duties and benefits can vary between franchises.Job SummaryResponsible for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients through collaboration with a designated physician.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssess and treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma in collaboration with a physicianCollaborate with the physician in the health care of patients with chronic illnesses.Educate patients and/or families about preventive care, positive behaviors, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.Maintain legible, accurate, and confidential medical records.Document all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultationsOrder diagnostic tests as appropriate.Prescribe medications within scope of license.Facilitate evaluation of records by physician(s) according to protocols and receive and implement constructive directives.Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, self-care skills, and use of prescribed medical treatments and medications through education and counseling.Regular attendance to ensure efficient operationsExperience with wound care and laceration managementOther Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist in patient flow through patient triage and other nursing duties as neededOther duties and responsibilities as assignedQualificationsAbility to learn and utilize Electronic Medical Records systemAbility and willingness to work weekend and holiday work as requiredFlexible, self-motivated individual who is dedicated to quality patient care and customer satisfactionExcellent communication skillsWorks effectively in a team environmentProjects a positive image and has a Patients First attitudePrior experience in primary/urgent care or internal medicine practice is desirableEducation and ExperienceCurrent licensure as a Certified Physician AssistantPhysical Demands/Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk.
