Schedule: Monday – Friday | 1:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented Custodians to support the West GA LaGrange Campus. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of campus facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors.

• General and private offices
• Lobbies, lounges, and common areas
• Kitchens and break rooms
• Coffee service areas
• Restrooms and washrooms
• Stairways and corridors
• Computer rooms, conference rooms, and mailrooms
• School hallways and classrooms

Note: No security-access areas unless pre-approved.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

A. Floor Care

• Sweep and/or damp mop hard surface floors
• Vacuum and spot clean carpeted floors
• Clean entrance lobby floors
• Sweep and/or vacuum stairways
• Sweep and/or damp mop kitchens and break rooms

B. Restrooms

• Sweep, mop, and disinfect restroom floors
• Clean and sanitize toilet bowls, urinals, and hand basins
• Clean mirrors, tile walls, and small partitions
• Empty sanitary napkin receptacles
• Empty waste containers and replace liners
• Refill towels, tissue, hand soap, and feminine products from stock

C. Waste & Receptacles

• Empty waste receptacles and remove debris from buildings
• Replace liners as needed
• Service smoking areas if requested (sift and replace sand as needed)

D. Dusting

• Dust desks, tables, chairs, filing cabinets, bookcases, and office furniture
• Dust windowsills, ledges, moldings, and picture frames
• Feather dust office machines when requested

Note: Personal items, letter files, phones, and desk contents will not be moved or dusted.

E. Glass Cleaning

• Clean and polish glass desktops
• Clean entrance doors
• Remove smudges from partition glass
• Clean directory signs

F. Miscellaneous Duties

• Clean and sanitize drinking fountains
• Damp wipe kitchen/break room tables, chairs, appliances, and sinks
• Clean coffee service counters and sinks
• Use minimal lighting while working
• Turn off lights once nightly cleaning is complete
• Maintain neat and organized janitorial closets
• Ensure all doors are locked and alarms set before leaving

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25–40 pounds
• Use cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and carts
• Work indoors with exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures
