American English College (www.aec.edu) is looking for an ESL Tutor for an adult learner who needs support with everyday English — conversation, pronunciation, and real-life communication. Experience assisting students preparing for U.S. citizenship or navigating U.S. systems is a plus.
Sessions: Flexible depending on availability
Pay: Starting at $28/hr
Start: ASAP
Location: Monterey Park, CA or Rowland Heights, CA
Requirements:
- Experience with private lessons, 1:1 tutoring, or individualized instruction
- Knowledge of ESL methodologies and ability to tailor lessons to student goals
- Ability to support language needs related to the U.S. citizenship process (interview practice, civics vocabulary, personal information review)
- Bachelor’s degree; ESL certifications (TESOL, CELTA, TEFL) or MA preferred
- Native or C2-level English proficiency
- Prefer tutors who attended high school in the U.S. (familiarity with U.S. school citizenship experience)
- U.S. work authorization
- Bilingual with another language a plus
