Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of large construction equipment in the field. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently while delivering high-quality service to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy construction equipment
- Maintain and service equipment including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and other diesel-powered machinery
- Inspect equipment for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and determine appropriate solutions
- Complete preventative maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks
- Respond to service calls and breakdowns in a timely manner
- Accurately document work performed, parts used, and time spent on repairs
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies while working in the field
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and equipment operators regarding repair status and needs
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Frequent bending, standing, kneeling, and climbing on equipment

Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience working on heavy construction equipment (field experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL a plus)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish preferre
