Toolroom Assistant/Helper Trainee

American Plastic Products (APP) has been a custom plastic injection molding for over 60 years. We have complete custom plastic injection molding capabilities for designing and manufacturing a product along with point of sale assembly if required. APP is a growing custom plastic injection molder in CT with solid reputable experience in the Medical, Military, Electronic, Cosmetic, Security, Automotive, Aerospace & Communication Industries. We are currently accepting applications for a toolroom assistant/helper to support our production operations servicing injection mold tooling.
Required Qualifications:
- Attention to detail, especially when cleaning and performing inspections of molds
- Basic knowledge and application of hand tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude, especially when it comes to disassembly and assembly of tooling demonstrating organizational methods
- Great communication and interpersonal skills with a proven record of effectively participating in a cross-functional team
- Ability to make independent judgments and support those decisions with sound logic
- Effective with moderate supervision
- Demonstrate coachable qualities, including the willingness to learn and advance your skills in a machine shop atmosphere
- Neatness and general housekeeping duties assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior work experience in an industrial or machine shop environment
- Sense of urgency to complete tasks in a timely manner
- A growth mindset, with an interest to learn skills to perform tasks efficiently associated with the plastic injection molding industry
· Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious.
Work Schedule:
· Current: 40 hours per week. Monday – Friday 7am-3:30pm
