Copy Editor for the American Economic Journals

The role of the copy editor is to ensure that journal manuscripts are correct in terms of spelling, grammar, punctuation, terminology formatting, and adherence to the Chicago Manual of Style and AEA house style.

Responsibilities:
- Copy editing journal manuscripts.
- Ensuring that display materials, such as tables and figures, are consistent with the text and are structured in a way that presents the information clearly.
- Coordinating with the prepress department to prepare manuscripts for author review (page proofs).
- Applying author changes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1-2 years professional copy editing experience
- Excellent writing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Experience with Adobe InCopy a plus
- Knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style a plus
Office Environment
The AEA Publications office is located on Pittsburgh's South Side. It is a professional, relaxed, and collaborative atmosphere. This is an on-site position, which allows for one day per week work from home.
